Which is a better for Win 11 recover disk or an installation media
Windows Recovery Media does back up the EFI partition and restores it during the recovery process. The Windows 11 Installation Media recreates the EFI partition. And yes, it does scrap everything because during clean install you have to delete all partitions. Windows Recovery Media is not a substitute for Windows Restore Point.

2. Uninstall the last updates. 3. Run a disk check etc. 4. Reset the PC. TLDR, it does not contain applications. A Recovery drive created using Windows can be used for different PCs of different OEMs, that is not a problem. In my opinion, a recovery drive becomes useless if #1-#4 does not work for some reason.

and the"Next" button is greyed out. If"Back up system files" is unchecked it will recognize any drive whether its a 32GB FAT format or 64/128GB NTFS and create the recovery drive.
